PLANETARY STRUCTURES: |
There are 3 different
Planetary Structures that can be built in VGA Planets. |
Mineral Mines: |
Cost: 4 Megacredits and 1
Supply to build. |
Used to extract Minerals
from the core of a Planet to the surface, where they can then be used to
construct Starbases or |
Ships, or transported by
Ship to other Planets. |
A Mineral Mine extracts
all four Minerals simultaneously. |
The more Mineral Mines
on a Planet, the lower the Native tax rate must be to keep the native
happiness level from dropping |
The maximum number of
Mineral Mines on a planet is limited by the size of the Colonist population. |
Maximum Mineral Mines on
a Planet: one for every Clan up to 200, above that it's 200+SQRT(Clans-200). |
See Planetary
Economy for mining rates. |
Factories: |
Cost 3 Megacredits and 1
Supply to build. |
For
every Factory on a Planet, 1 Supply unit is produced each turn. |
The more Factories on a
Planet, the lower the Native tax rate must be to keep the native happiness
level from dropping. |
The maximum number of
Factories on a Planet is limited by the size of the Colonist population. |
Maximum Factories: one
for every Clan up to 100, above that it's 100+SQRT(Clans-100). |
Defense Posts: |
Cost 10 Megacredits and
1 Supply to build. |
The maximum number of
Defense Posts on a Planet is limited by the size of your Colonist population |
Maximum Defense Posts:
one for every Clan up to 50, above that it's 50+SQRT(Clans-50) |
Defense posts will
screen the Planet's industrial activity from long-range sensor sweeps by
enemy Ships |
The odds of detection
are (100 - NumberOfDefensePosts)% |
Every
20 Defense Posts add a defense factor to the Planet. (100 Defense Posts make
a planet 5 times stronger than it's normal defense
factor) |
Defense Factor: 100 +
Defense Posts + Starbase Defense (If a Starbase is present) |
The number of Beam
Weapons a Planet will have for defense: SQR (Defense Factor / 3) |
The Beam Tech Level will
be: SQR (Defense Posts / 2) OR Beam Tech Level of the Starbase, whichever is
higher |
The number of Fighters
that a Planet can launch to defend the Planet from enemy Ships: SQR (Number
of Defense Posts) |
Fighters are regenerated
after every attack |
Number of Fighter Bays
the Planet will have: SQR (Number of Defense Posts) |
If a Starbase is
present, the planet has five (5) extra Fighter Bays |
A Planet with no Defense
Posts cannot utilize the NUK Friendly Code (Host 3.22.027) |
As
the number of Planetary Structures increases, the Native happiness decreases
because they do not like to see their beautiful Planet |
become scarred by all
the industrial activity. Not that you care! |
Mineral Mines and
Factories are suceptible to being noticed by enemy Scanners. Defense Posts
help to keep Mineral Mines and Factories |
from being Scanned. |
