FRIENDLY CODES SUB-MENU: |
What is a Friendly Code: |
A Friendly Code is a 3
digit, alpha-numeric code that tells a Ship or a Planet/Starbase what to do. |
Notes on Friendly Codes: |
Friendly Codes are CASE
SENSITIVE. 'NAL' is not the same as 'nal'. |
All Ships and all
Planets have Friendly Codes. If you do not want a Ship or Planet to perform a
special task, |
set the Friendly Code to
a code that does not represent an Ability. (For instance, the code 'W4v' has
no meaning |
and would make a good
Friendly Code for a Ship or Planet that needs not perform any special action. |
Every Ship and every
Planet has a Friendly Code. Each one should be set separately. (for security
reasons) |
A Starbase can also
perform actions and also has Friendly Codes. However, a Starbase is 'tied' to
a Planet. Therefore |
all Starbase Friendly
Codes are entered via the Planet. That means that a Planet and its Starbase
can only perform |
one special action
requiring a Friendly Code each turn. |
Minefields also have
Friendly Codes. However, similarly to Starbases, the Minefields' Friendly
Codes are tied to Planets. |
In this case, the Planet
owned by the Minefield's owner that is closest to the center of the Minefield
controls |
that Minefield's Friendly
Code. |
Some Friendly Codes will
not work without a Registered copy of the game. |
This Guide uses “N” as
the variable for all Friendly Codes that have variables. For example “mfN” sets all Minefields |
to this Friendly Code.
“N” can be any character. |
This Guide lists many
Friendly Codes that work only with Addons. An Addon is a third party program
that is made |
to work specifically
with VGA Planets. Generally, these Addons add new Abilities to the game. |
Most Addons run only on
the Host's computer. Generally, you will not need copies of them in order to
utilize their |
Abilities and Friendly
Codes. Be sure to check with the host to find out if any Addons are being
used in a game. |
The Friendly Codes
listed under 'Host 3.20' come with the basic game and if you have a
Registered copy, you will |
have access to all of
those Friendly Codes. |
You can not set your
Friendly Codes to any non-printable ascii code. If you do, it will be reset
to AAA. |
Notes on Abilities: |
This section also
includes Abilities that do not require a Friendly Code to utilize. |
